When Lin-Manuel Miranda is looking for a little taste of home, he dines at @809restaurant in his home neighborhood of Washington Heights/Inwood, New York. “It's the area code from the Dominican Republic...we’re a community predominantly of Dominican immigrants who often share a very tight family bond,” says José “Joey” Moronta, owner of @809restaurant in Washington Heights/Inwood, #NYC. Joey’s father, Cirilo opened 809 Bar & Grill over a decade ago, and it has become a staple in the community with regulars coming in for lunch, dinner, or special events.
